Post-doc position in atmospheric modeling
The Global Change Research Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, seeks a postdoctoral research fellow with the following research focus: Interpretation of data measured at the atmospheric station Křešín u Pacova (Czech Republic) using atmospheric modelling. The main workload will be focused on the application and modification of existing models and development of new models, if necessary. Further, a complex interpretation of the atmospheric station measurement data will be asked.
We ask:
- A PhD degree in global climate change and/or atmospheric modeling related sciences
- Theoretical and practical knowledge in atmospheric modeling (modeling of meteorological parameters,
atmospheric transport, inversion modeling), application and modification of existing models, eventually
development of new models
- Practice in working with datasets, statistics
- Computer skills at a level necessary for atmospheric modeling and data processing, programming
- Capability of independent scientific work including publishing papers in impact factor journals, previous
publishing results
- Participation in project (grants) submissions and realization of research projects
- Good English communication skills
- T eam work
- Willingness to travel about once in two month to (predominantly) European countries
